Maximus: Worked Quick Coming Into This Race and Showed Quickly That He’s a Runner

Two year old colt for Cesar DeAlba made his debut on Sunday at a six furlong sprint on the main for maiden special weights. There was an optional claiming price of $62,500 but none of the 9 runners were in for the tag. Off at 7/2 in a field of 9, he broke running under Herrera and simply blitzed this field with fractions of 22 flat for the ¼ and 45.59 for the half. He had four on the field at the 3/8 pole and won off by 10 at the wire. He worked awfully quick coming into this race over at Los Al and he showed quickly that this son of Maximus Mischief is a runner.
