Upcoming Race: Santa Anita October 5, 2024 Mizzyaan: Has Quick Acceleration That It Takes To Win On Turf

Three year old filly for Mike McCarthy made her 4th career start and 2nd in this country in Saturday’s finale, a maiden special weight for fillies and mares 3 and up at a mile and a sixteenth on the turf. Off at 6/1 in an 11 horse field, she was void of any early speed and was as much as 14 lengths back of the leaders at the half mile pole under Rispoli. She started to move at the ¼ pole, weaved her way through traffic at the top of the lane, and then had a big turn of foot late on the outside to rally for second, only beaten one length at the wire. This daughter of the undefeated Justify is a runner and has that quick acceleration that it takes to win on the turf. Look for her to graduate up at Arcadia in the fall.
