Indispensable: Beaten by 3 But Lot’s of Talent Behind Him

Three year old colt for John Sadler tried the Shared Belief stakes on Sunday at a mile on the main for sophomores. Off at 16/1 in a field of just six, he was pretty much void of any early speed and was six back early, then 8 back by the half mile pole. He started his run at the 5/16 under Berrios, made a strong move turning for home, then continued on strong down the lane but couldn’t catch Muth, one of the better 3 year olds in the country. He was beaten 3 at the wire and had a couple of nice sophomores behind him including Imagination. He still has the first allowance condition available to him, is equally effective on turf or dirt, and as long as Berrios rides, he’s a soon winner as long as Sadler doesn’t over class this colt.
