Thorne House: Broke Slow, Caught Up at Half Mile Pole, Opend At top to Win by 7

Five year old gelding for Dean Pederson simply crushed a 1st allowance condition open event at six and a half on the main Saturday. Off as the 9/5 choice in a field of 8, he broke a tad slow under Tiago Pereira, then was up to the leaders by the half mile pole. He cruised to the lead on his own at the 3/8 pole, then opened up at the top of the lane to win by 7 going away, all under a hand ride. The fractions were fast on a track that was pretty glib all day at 21.73 and 44.38 for the half. This one is a Cal bred and he’s now ready for Cal bred stakes. He is strictly a sprinter but he is just as good on the turf as he is on the dirt. Now he just has to avoid hooking The Chosen Vron and he can win right back.
