Runamileinmyshoes: In the money long or short next time out.

Three year old filly for Jeff Mullins drew the rail slot on Saturday in her 3rd attempt to break her maiden at six and a half out of the chute on the lawn. Off at 2/1 in a field of 9 Cal bred sophomore fillies, she broke running from the rail but was not quick enough to get the lead early. J.J. kept her in third early down on the fence and she was loaded at the ¼ pole, just begging for a seam to open. But that seam never developed, and she was blocked down on the inside the entire length of the stretch. She was beaten two at the wire, finished third, and had never had a chance to run much at any point in the race. She has now been close up in all three starts with very little to show for it, but Mullins may stretch her out next time just to keep her out of trouble. Being by Street Boss, she is bred to win early, and I think she gets the money next time, short or long. She will be extra tough if J.J. rides her back.
