Prince Dolce: Bred Top and Bottom For The Turf

Two year old gelding for Carla Gaines made his 3rd career start and first on the turf on Friday in a Cal bred maiden special weight at ¾ on the turf. Off at 7/2 in a field of 7, there were four scratches in this race, he sat early in third three back under top turf rider Umberto Rispoli. He was fortunate to have a speed duel going on in front of him, though under moderate fractions. He made his move at the ¼ pole, got to the outside at the top of the lane and took control late winning off by three at the wire. This son of the top sire Sir Prancealot is bred top and bottom for the turf and he hardly picked up his feet in his two dirt starts. Carla found his hole card today and this one won’t be back on the main track for some time.
