Ohana Honor: Stuck in Traffic Early Can Improve

Many will likely look at how Equal Protection had nowhere to run in early stretch as the 6/5 favorite, but ‘Honor had a similar trip. He seemed to be spinning his wheels around the far turn, but had to wait behind runners in early stretch and rallied well in tight quarters throughout the rest of the stretch to finish 4th (though we have to question the photo for the show spot).

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Ohana Honor was cabable of.  We expected that if Ohana Honor gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Ohana Honor performance figures.  Use the performance figures earned in Ohana Honor last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Ohana Honor next start.  If Ohana Honor appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble  as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Ohana Honor will dominate the race.
