Linda’s Gift: Lock to Win 2nd Condition Watch For Her At Santa Anita

Four year old filly for Richard Mandella made her 2nd start this year in Saturday’s ninth, a first allowance condition at a mile and a sixteenth on the turf, 3 and up. Off at 4/1 in a field of 9, she broke running under Tiago Pereira and made the lead into the clubhouse turn. She slowed the pace down to 24.25 and 49.07 for the half, but then was hooked at the half mile pole and they raced as a team to the top of the stretch. But “Linda” had another gear and shook loose at the 1/8 pole and won off handily by two and a half at the wire. She had six starts back in New York on the grass in route races and closed from off the pace in all six, so she doesn’t need the lead to win. She’s a lock to win the second condition so look for her up at Arcadia for their fall meet. This daughter of Arrogate has lots of talent and Mandella knows what to do with these kinds of fillies.
