Laugier Night (IRE): Looks Like A Mile Is Well Within His Scope

Three year old gelding for Phil D’Amato ran a winning race on Friday but ended up second beaten a head at the wire. Making his 4th career start and still seeking his maiden diploma, “Laugier” was off at 9/1 in a field of 9 at 5/8 on the turf, 3 and up maiden allowance. He broke well under Frey and sat 3rd down the back side just 3 off the leaders. He started to move on the leaders at the ¼ pole, went three wide into the stretch, got the lead at the 1/16, and never saw the freight train out in the middle of the course that nailed him by a head. He may need a tad longer to graduate than 5/8 but this Irish bred looks like a mile in well within his scope. Look for D’Amato to find a winning spot for him in the very near future.
