King of Clubs: Glatt’s Gelding Overcomes Trouble to Score Impressively; Clubhouse Ride Son on the Rise Upcoming Race: Santa Anita May 17, 2025

Four year old gelding for Mark Glatt made just his 3rd career start on Sunday and second on the grass when he was in a first allowance condition race for Cal breds at 9 furlongs. Off as the heavy 2 to 5 choice in a field of 9, he broke OK under Prat and was fifth into the clubhouse turn about 5 off the leaders. He tried to move up at the 3/8 pole, then checked rather severely when he ran up on a horse’s heels, and then got shuffled further back in the pack. Prat swung him to the outside at the top of the lane, and once he got in the clear, he showed a big turn of foot late and won by two under a hand ride. It was an impressive performance and this was his second straight win on the turf, both route races. Up the ladder for this son of Clubhouse Ride who has loads of talent and many options under the savvy Glatt.
