Formula Rossa: Glatt Unveils Impressive Debut Winner; Filly by Vekoma Shows Serious Stakes Potential

Three year old filly for Mark Glatt made her debut under Mike Smith in a field of 9 maiden special weight soph fillies at ¾ on the main. Off at 4/1, she broke OK and laid 4th early down the back side just 4 off the leader. Smith went after the Baffert speedster at the 3/8 pole, put her head in front at the top of the lane and just sailed on by with big, powerful strides. She won under a hand ride the final furlong to be five clear at the wire over another very nice filly. This daughter of the win early sire Vekoma is a runner and has all the potential of a stakes runner down the road. The winning time was 1:08.73 over a track a bit on the dull side. The Glatt barn is loaded heading into the Spring/Summer meets with quality horseflesh.
