Cathal (IRE): Quick Turn of Foot Colt We’d Like To See On The Grass

Three year old colt for John Sadler was stretched out to a mile in his 2nd start in the states in Saturday’s opener, a maiden special weight event for sophomores. Off at 7/2 in a field of 9, he broke slowly under Fresu and was well back into and out of the clubhouse turn. He started to move up at the 3/8 pole from the inside, swung out for room at the top of the lane, then showed a quick turn of foot late to win rather easily by a length at the wire. Fresu had him geared down immediately once he knew he had the victory. This colt has the quick turn of foot you like to see on the grass and I wouldn’t be surprised if Sadler tried him in the Oceanside stakes on opening day at Del Mar. Once this fella gets a little more seasoning, this Irish bred is going to be a good one and he’s in good hands with Sadler.
