Brother Tony: Terrible Start but Credible Race Might be Overlooked

Two year old colt for Peter Miller made his debut on Sunday with some outstanding drills in a maiden special weight at six and a half on the main. Off at 9/1 in a field of 9, he broke horribly under Reylu Gutierrez and was bumped hard by his neighbor Gaming, who just happened to wire the field as the favorite. Then “Tony” ducked inward when he saw the chute and wanted to head right back to the barn. Needless to say he was last early and was 12 back of Gaming. But, he steadily made up ground down the back side, never did reach contention, but still rallied for third while he did beat six other horses. The start was so terrible and even though he was beaten about seven and a half at the wire, the race was creditable. This colt can run some and Miller just needs him to break with his field and he’ll be a soon winner.
