Beer Buzz: Beer Buzz Delivers Promising Debut for Dollase; Cal-Bred Son of Stay Thirsty Primed to Break Maiden Soon

Three year old gelding for Craig Dollase made his debut on Saturday in a maiden special weight for Cal breds at six and a half on the main. Off at 6/1 in just a five horse field, but getting plenty of early tote action, he broke OK under Kyle Frey and was third down the back side four off the runaway leader, who set awfully quick fractions of 21.50 and 44.11 for the half. Beer Buzz was three back at the 3/8 pole, just two back at the top of the lane, but the odds on winner still had something left in the tank and won by a length and a half at the wire. “Buzz” never stopped trying and it was three back to the third horse. All in all, a strong debut for this son of Stay Thirsty and he appears to be a soon winner for a barn that is 0/13 for the meet yet won at 19% all of last year.
